Description

The Thatched Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located in Tilty. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof, and has one storey with attics. The cottage features 20th-century easement windows and dormer windows with semi-circular heads, as well as 20th-century extensions on the north side. Inside, the original frame is largely intact, showcasing through wall bracing, stop-chamfered bridging joists, and halved and bladed plate scarfs. The original central red brick chimney stack has been rebuilt at the top.
