Description
Railings attached to Number 1 Maltings and adjacent to the north side of the pavement date from the late 19th century. They are made of cast iron and feature spiral posts that stand on square plinths. The posts have moulded bases, small raised panels where the center and top nails meet, and pyramidal heads. These railings enclose the forecourt created by the lower storeys of the maltings, which measures 54 feet wide at the bottom and 25 feet wide above road level.
