Description
Pilcox Hall is a house that dates from the 16th or 17th century, with an 18th-century facade and later alterations and additions. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a hipped grey slate roof and features two red brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and end pilasters. The first floor has a range of five small paned vertically sliding sash windows with moulded surrounds. On the ground floor, there are two 20th-century bay windows, with a four-panelled door situated between them. This door is flanked by fluted pilasters and columns, and the frieze includes triglyphs and metopes, topped by a flat canopy. To the right, there is a garage door and a 20th-century garage extension. Inside, notable features include an inglenook fireplace, heavy flat section ceiling joists, and stop-chamfered bridging joists.
