Description
The Hollies is a cottage from the 18th century that was altered in the 19th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof made of interlocking concrete tiles and red clay 'Roman' tiles. The cottage has two bays facing southwest and features an external stack at the right end. There is a single-storey 19th-century extension to the left, which has an internal stack at the rear, along with a small lean-to extension at the back of it. The building is one storey with attics and includes two 19th-century casement windows and a boarded door with one small pane. The weatherboarding consists of both hardwood and softwood. The main cottage's roof is covered with interlocking concrete tiles, while the rest of the building has 'Roman' tiles. The lower part of the external stack is rendered. A photograph from around 1935 shows that both roofs were originally thatched.
