Description
The Oakwood Inn is a public house located on Frinton Road in Holland-on-Sea. It dates from the 17th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. The building is timber framed and rough rendered, topped with a red plain tiled roof. There is no chimney stack visible from the road. The structure has two storeys and attics, featuring a four-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes. Iron support brackets are present under the gutter. A 20th-century enclosed gabled porch leads to a 20th-century plank and muntin door with side lights. Inside, part of the heavy timber frame is exposed, showcasing chamfered bridging joists, flat ceiling beams, and wall studs.
