Description
St Osyth's Priory urn and stone pedestal, located approximately 50 metres northeast of the abbot's lodging, dates from the 18th or 19th century and has undergone later repairs. It is constructed from stone, septaria, brick, and rubble.
The pedestal is designed as a column about 1.5 metres high, featuring stone quoins. The south face of the pedestal is patched with brick and includes a plaque, although the inscription is unreadable. Atop the column is a stone slab that supports an urn. The urn has scalloped sides, a rounded and moulded stem and base, and a slender moulded raised lid topped with a ball head on a moulded stem.
