Description
This is a monument located approximately 12 metres northwest of the Lych Gate and 5 metres south of the moat in the churchyard of St. Peter's in Great Totham. It dates from the early 20th century and is made of cast iron, produced by the Etna Foundry. The monument features a small head design, with a lower panel that has three ribbed mouldings. It includes bases and capitals on short support pilasters, with the moulding continuing to terminate in rectangular capitals that support a semi-circular arch adorned with foliage. Beneath the arch, there is a cherub draped in mourning, facing left and clasping a moulded urn with a splayed stem. The absence of a name on the panel and its smaller size compared to nearby monuments indicate that it likely marks the grave of a very young child.
