Description

Langford Bridge is a bridge over the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation, built around 1797. It was designed by Chief Engineer John Rennie, with supervision by Richard Coates. The bridge is constructed of red brick with stone coping and features a single round-headed arch. The design includes a band that continues through square end pillars. This bridge is one of the five original bridges that cross the Navigation above Langford Lock.
