Description
No. 6 Market Hill is a house that has been converted into a shop, built in 1837. It is constructed from red and brown Flemish-bond brick, with a rendered side and a gabled slate roof featuring a ridgeline stack at one end. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with a lower rendered block at the rear.
On the first floor, there are 12-pane sash windows that have stucco arched heads and keystones, along with recessed panels. The ground floor features a semicircular-arched entrance with a stucco keystone, a moulded arch, and imposts. The entrance includes a recessed 20th-century door topped with a semi-circular fanlight that has radial glazing bars. Notably, the date 1837 is inscribed on a window sill on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
