Description

The lodge at the entrance to Gaynes Park is a cottage dating from the 16th or 17th century. It is primarily timber framed, with a front face that is partly plastered and mainly weatherboarded. The roof is covered with red plain tiles and features a lean-to on the left side. The building has three windows, mostly 17th century iron casements with diamond leaded glass, while the others are 20th century casements designed to match. The eaves project outwards, and there is a central hipped porch with red tiles supported by rustic posts. The entrance has a plain vertically boarded door, and a central chimney stack made of red brick.
