Description
The Hill Hall Bathing Pavilion is a bathing pavilion built between 1927 and 1928, designed by Philip Tilden for Sir Robert and Lady Hudson. It features ashlar stonework and a concrete domed roof, with a circular plan and wings extending to the east and west. The structure is supported by eight Tuscan Doric columns that hold up a full entablature and frieze, with two additional similar columns on each wing. Each column has moulded bases and capitals.
Located at the south end of the bathing pool, the pavilion has patterned stone paving on the floor and is enclosed at the rear by a short stone wall with moulded coping. Three semicircular stone steps lead from the pavilion into the pool. This pavilion was part of a complete new garden designed by Philip Tilden for Sir Robert Hudson.
