Description
Southend Farmhouse, built in 1767, is a 17th-century red brick building with an old tiled roof and plastered side gables. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring two casements with glazing bars and louvered shutters. The windows have three lights set in shallow reveals with wooden mullions. A gabled timber porch and a moulded cornice add to its architectural detail. The central chimney stack is notable for its four joined diagonally set shafts. To the left, there is a single-storey brown brick wing that includes one flush casement with two lights and glazing bars. Southend Farmhouse is part of a group with Upshire Hall and Lodge.
