Description
Norton Mandeville Manor is a house built in 1613, with 18th century and later additions. It features red brick in Flemish bond on the end walls and a plastered facade, topped with a red plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and attics, arranged in a half 'H' plan. The front has a parapet with three prominent gables and a three-window range of mullion and transom casements with leaded lights. Each gable also has three leaded casements. Both wings include flat-roofed semi-hexagonal bay windows that rise two storeys, with matching casements. At the rear, there is a staircase tower and four large original red brick chimney stacks, each with three octagonal shafts, moulded bases, and caps. A one-storey red brick extension with a red plain tiled roof is located at the back. The door features a panelled surround with a flat hood supported by scroll brackets. There are date plaques on the south chimney stack indicating E.S.A. and the year 1613. Inside, the manor contains three rooms with original panelling, numerous original doors and ironmongery, and an original staircase with moulded handrails and newels topped with turned finials.
