Description
This monument, located approximately 240 metres north of The Warren, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of stone and features a plinth of cement-rendered brickwork. The structure is an obelisk resting on four ball feet, situated on a square stone base that sits on the rendered plinth. At the top, there is a ball and rosette. The monument stands at approximately 6 metres tall and has no inscription. According to Sir William Addison, after the first owner’s death, General Grosvenor, who occupied The Warren, erected the obelisk in memory of the horse he rode at the Battle of Waterloo.
