Description

Hardings is a house dating from the mid-16th century or earlier, originally designed as an open hall house. It features a gabled and jettied crosswing to the south. The structure is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tile roof. The building stands two storeys high, with an additional storey in the attic, and has a three-window range of 20th-century leaded casements. There are two gabled dormers and a 20th-century lean-to brick porch. The house has red brick chimney stacks, with the one at the south end being a restored 16th-century feature that includes attached diagonal shafts.
