Description

Hewitt Memorial Hall is a circa 1810 structure of plastered timber framing. It was originally the Old Assembly Room, depicted in J. Constable's painting of Dedham Vale. The building features a pedimented front with pilasters, and has one-storey flanking wings with open pediments and small, semi-circular windows. Other windows are small-paned sashes, and the roof is slate clad.
