Description

Nos 93 and 94 on High Street are 18th-century buildings that have been significantly altered. They feature a brick front that was updated in the 19th century, with sash windows that have architrave surrounds. The ground floor has a modern shop front. A plaque on the building notes that it was formerly occupied by two Colchester clockmakers: Jeremy Spurgin, who was born in 1666 and died in 1699, and John Smorthwaite, who was born in 1675 and died in 1739.
