Description
The Old Manse is an early 19th-century house located on the east side of High Street in Wivenhoe. It is constructed of rendered brick and features a hipped roof covered with slate. The house has three small-paned sash windows on the first floor, which are fitted with external shutters.
On the ground floor, there is an Ionic porch that includes a dentilled entablature, leading to a fielded-panel door adorned with a lion-mask knocker and a fanlight above. Large-paned sash windows are positioned on either side of the porch, all set in exposed boxes. To the left (north) of the main entrance, there is a bay that is set back, which contains two doors with glazed tops that are margin-barred, and fielded panels in the reveals, one of which has a flat hood above it.
