Description
Nos. 37, 39, and 41 High Street are mid-19th century commercial premises formerly known as The Grosvenor Hotel. They have been converted into separate units in the 20th century. The building is constructed of multi-coloured brick and features three storeys arranged in an L-plan with three bays in each range and a clipped corner. The roof is hipped and slated, adorned with five arcaded gault chimneys. The eaves are corbelled, and there are bands at the second and first floors. Each range includes three round-headed sash windows on the second storey and three square sashes with margin-bars on the first storey, all with surrounds made of gault brick. The ground storey features round-headed windows with circular wooden mullions and two round-headed lights each, set beneath projecting brick arches with moulded imposts.
