Description

The three bay barn at Elm Farm is a 16th-century structure. It has three bays arranged in a north-south direction, with an east-facing midstrey. The barn features elm weather-boards and a tarred roof that is ridged and gabled, covered with peg tiles. It has jowled main-posts and lacks aisles. The side girts are complemented by Tudor style arch braces and curved wind-braces positioned above the side-girts. Bladed scarf-joints are also present. Additionally, there is a seed-bin located to the south of the midstrey.
