Description
Holts Farmhouse is a Grade II* listed building dating from around 1750. It features a complex L-shaped plan with a parallel range extending from the long side. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a false parapet, along with three red brick chimney stacks. The front is finished in ashlar marked plaster, and the central entrance door has six fielded panels, flanked by two Ionic columns that support a pediment with dentilled soffits, both horizontal and inclined. There are three stone steps leading up to the door. On either side of the door, there are two pairs of thinly barred hornless sash windows with glazing bars in exposed boxes. The first storey has a range of five matching windows, with the central window featuring an eared wooden architrave with volutes at the base, positioned above the sill. The building has a parapet cornice with mutules beneath a Gothic arcade, and the roof is hipped and covered with peg tiles.
