Description

Newney Hall is a late 16th century timber-framed and plastered house located in Writtle. It features arms wings on both the east and west ends, with a small gable situated between them. The cross wings are jettied on the first storey at the north front. There have been significant later alterations and additions, including a gabled wing on the west end. The windows are 3-light mullioned casements with leaded lights. The roof is tiled and has two original chimney stacks with diagonal shafts. On the south side, there is one gabled dormer window. Inside, the house showcases exposed timber-framing.
