Description

Boreham Lodge is an 18th century timber-framed and plastered house with a painted brick front, featuring three bays divided by pilasters, a parapet, and a modillion cornice. The building has two storeys and attics, with a seven-window range of double-hung sashes that include glazing bars set in plain reveals. There is a central doorway adorned with an early 19th century iron fret perch. At the rear, there are later wings. The roof is tiled, with a mansard design that is half hipped at both the east and west ends, and includes one gabled dormer on the front. Boreham Lodge is part of a group that includes the Church of St Andrew, the Old Vicarage, Church Cottages (Nos 1 to 4), McMillans Cottages (Nos 1 and 2), Boreham Manor, Babylon, Ebenezer Cottage, Chasdol, and the Old Rectory. Church Cottages Nos 1 to 4 are recognized as buildings of local interest.
