Description
Hill House is an 18th century red brick house located on the south side of Maldon Road in Danbury. Originally a posting house known as The Blue Boar, it has undergone alterations and additions in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring a window arrangement of 1:3:1. The central section, which has five windows, slightly projects forward and is topped with a pediment. The windows are modern casements from the 20th century. A raised brick band runs between the storeys, and the roof is tiled, incorporating two flat-headed dormers. Hill House is part of a group that includes Nos 24 and 24A, No 26 (Kyrtles Cottage), No 28 (Hill House), Adam's Cottage, No 1 (Myra Cottage), No 3 (Blacksmiths Cottage), and No 5 (Holly Cottage).
