Description
Elms Farmhouse is a 16th century timber-framed and plastered house with some brickwork, built in an L-shaped plan and remodelled in the early 17th century. The building has two storeys. The south front features two jettied gables that are supported by brackets carved into grotesque figures. The east gable retains its original bargeboards and pendant. Beneath each gable, there is a two-storey canted bay window with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars. The roof is tiled and has two 17th century chimney stacks; one at the west end has six grouped shafts set diagonally on a moulded base, while the one at the east end has three diagonally set shafts.
