Description
Riffhams is an early 19th century white brick house built between 1815 and 1817 by Spenser Phillips, the first owner. The house features stucco pilasters that rise through two storeys, along with a deep stucco frieze and cornice. The east front has a window arrangement of three, three, and one, while the southern part slightly projects forward and includes a central stucco Doric portico with plain columns in antis and a cornice. At the north end, there is a later Victorian addition with one window range. The south front has a total of five windows. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, set within stucco moulded architraves. The ground storey features tall sashes with cornices, and the central window on the south front is a French casement that opens onto a balustraded terrace.
