Description

The former bakehouse located at the rear of Number 100, known as The Old Post Office, dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of English bond brick and features a gabled pantile roof with a brick stack. The gable end next to the house includes a small paned window and a 19th-century door. Inside, the bakehouse retains its original bake-oven and fittings, including an oven door made by W.M. Graham and Sons from Trig Lane, Upper Thames Street, London. George Spalding established a bakery business here in the 1850s.
