Hillcrest is a small, 18th-century timber-framed cottage located on the west side of The Street in Little Waltham. It is set back from the road and has a front gable. The cottage is two storeys high, with casement windows and a tiled roof. It is included on the heritage register for its group value, forming a group with numbers 77 to 83 (odd), numbers 84 to 94 (even), and The Congregational Church.
