Description

Houghtons is an early 19th-century brick house, now with a colourwashed exterior. It is two storeys high. The central block has a higher eaves line than the rest of the house. The windows are irregularly placed double-hung sash windows with glazing bars set in plain reveals. The front door is a four-panel double door with a semi-circular fanlight featuring pointed arched glazing bars. A portico with fluted columns provides a covered entrance. The roof is slate, hipped in form. A west wing, with a tiled roof, may be of earlier date than the main building.
