Description
This barn, located approximately 7 metres east of The Red Cow Public House, dates from the early 16th century or earlier. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof made of corrugated asbestos. The structure consists of three bays arranged roughly east to west, with a one-bay extension open to the north at the west end. It features jowled posts, cambered tiebeams, and an edge-halved and bridled scarf in the north wallplate. The roof is supported by crownposts with axial bracing. There are large doors on the south side and smaller doors on the north side of the middle bay. The west extension has heavy framing at the wallplate level, and its roof has been rebuilt using softwood.
