Description

This is a late 18th- to early 19th-century timber-framed and plastered building, originally Bocking Workhouse. It is two storeys high with attics. The cross wing at the north end has casement windows and some horizontal sliding sash windows on the north-east front. The north-west end of the cross wing has a single window range with double-hung sashes and glazing bars. The main block, facing north-west, has a four-window range with early 19th-century metal casements and glazing bars. The ground-floor windows are in pairs, featuring Gothic arched heads. The roofs are tiled and steeply pitched, with a mansard roof on the cross wing.
