Description

The King William Inn, located on Church Street in Bocking, is a timber-framed building dating to the 17th century, with 18th-century additions and alterations. The building is two storeys high, with attics and cellars. The front facade is panelled with applied timber framing. It has a four-window arrangement; the windows on the north side are 18th-century double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, set within flush cased frames. The upper-storey windows on the south side are casements, while the ground-floor windows are double-hung sashes with vertical glazing bars. A plaster panel above the central doorway on the north side displays the date 1783. The south side of the building is clad in weatherboarding. The roofs are tiled.
