Description
Number 23 and Hill House is an early 19th century house made of buff-colored gault brick. The main block faces west and is three stories tall, featuring a three-window arrangement on the west front and a one-window arrangement on the south front. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in plain reveals. The ground floor has coursed stucco and includes a 20th-century shop front. The south front features a 20th-century bow shop window designed in an 18th-century style with glazing bars. The wing extends to the east and is two stories tall with a two-window range and 20th-century casement windows. The ground floor of the wing also has a 20th-century shop. The roofs are covered with slate. Number 23 and Hill House are part of a group that includes the Constitutional Club and the House and Shop occupied by Cameron Chemist in Great Square.
