Description

Moat Farm Barn, located approximately 60 metres southeast of the house, is a barn dating from the late 14th century with later restorations. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, featuring a hipped corrugated asbestos roof with a gablet on the left side. The barn has two midstreys, which were originally gabled but now have catslides and full height double doors. There is aisle bracing to the storey posts and halved and bridled scarfs. The barn was originally constructed with a crown post roof and includes arched braces to the side purlins. A date from the 17th century is said to be inscribed on the midstrey top plate.
