Description

The granary, located 40 metres west of Great Priory Farmhouse, dates from the early 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, topped with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The building has a square plan and features a plain boarded door with a cat-hole on the southeast side. It is supported by four staddle stones and brick piers from various periods. The roof is pyramidal in shape. The original timber frame is intact, making it a rare example of its kind. Some of the oak weatherboarding is original, profiled, and rebated. The bins inside are from the 18th or 19th century.
