Description

Elizabeth House is an 18th-century house, restored in the 20th century. It is constructed of painted red brick with a roof of handmade red plain tiles. The main part of the house faces southeast, featuring a central axial stack at the left end, and an original rear wing to the right. The house has two storeys, a cellar, and attics. The front elevation has a two-window range of early 19th-century tripartite sash windows, each with a 4-12-4 light arrangement, and a late 19th or early 20th-century sash window above the central doorway. The entrance features a six-panel door, with four fielded panels, set within a doorcase that has panelled jambs and soffit, engaged columns with Composite capitals, a fretted frieze, and a dentilled and moulded pediment. Wrought iron railings are situated on either side of the door, these having been altered in the 20th century.
