Description
Kentwell is a house that dates back to the 17th century or earlier. It is timber framed and plastered, with a roof made of handmade red plain tiles. The main part of the house faces southeast and features an axial stack at the left end, with a wing extending to the rear left. There is also a single-storey lean-to extension at the rear right, which forms a catslide with the main roof. The house has two storeys and includes one early 19th-century sash window with 12 lights on each storey. The front door, from the 20th century, has six fielded panels and imitation bullseye glass in the top two panels, set within an early 19th-century reeded architrave that has a simple moulded canopy. At the rear, there is a 19th-century horizontal sash window with 12 lights located in a gabled dormer within the catslide roof.
