Description

The pump at the junction of Church Lane and Mill Road is a 19th-century structure made of cast iron. It has a square obelisk shape with a four-sided neck that leads to a ball finial. The handle features a pear-shaped knob. Above the spout, there is an inscription that reads 'Ransomes Ipswich', while the back of the pump states, 'This well was sunk and pump erected by voluntary contributions'. Each of the four sides has panels outlined by a raised line with reversed curves in the corners.
