Description
Garlands Cottage is an 18th-century cottage that has been extended in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with plastering and a thatched roof. The cottage has two bays facing north and includes a stack in the left return wall. At the rear, there are single-storey extensions added in the 20th century. The cottage is one storey high with attics and has a two-window range of 18th-century two-light casements, each with one wrought iron casement and rectangular leading. The upper windows are set in tiled swept dormers. There is a 20th-century door. Notably, this cottage retains the complete set of original windows, which are matching and have spring latches that are still in working order. Despite the rear extensions, the main cottage remains largely unaltered.
