Description
Little Gables is a cottage that dates from the 18th century or earlier. It is timber framed and has plastered walls with some exposed framing, topped with a thatched roof. The building consists of three bays and features a near-central chimney stack facing south, alongside an 18th-century external chimney stack at the left end. There is a lean-to extension with a slate roof at the right end, which dates from the 19th or 20th century. The cottage has a rear wing with an end stack, forming a T-plan, and includes lean-to extensions at the rear and on each side. It is one storey high with attics and has two casement windows, which include re-sited 18th-century wrought iron casements, as well as one 20th-century casement in the right extension. The front door, which is in a Gothick style and dates from the early 20th century, has a fanlight above it. The roof is gambrel in style.
