Description

The barn at Dorewards Hall is a mid-15th century structure that is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a red double roman tile roof that is half hipped with gablets. It features five bays and has an aisled design, with a gabled midstrey located at the northwest. There are lean-to extensions on each side and at one end. Inside, the original frame is largely intact, showcasing arch braced tie beams and arcade plates, jowled main posts, and a simple crown post roof that is braced to the tie beam and collar purlin. The arcade plate scarfs are halved and bridled.
