Description

The icehouse located 10 meters north-west of Gardener's Cottage in Stisted Hall Park dates from the early 19th century. It is primarily constructed of red brick, with some white brick, and is covered by earth. The structure is round and features an entrance tunnel to the north. The ice chamber has a conical shape with a domed top and was found to be half full of debris during a survey in February 1987. There are two rebated doorways in the tunnel, and the rebated arched outer doorway has been rebuilt, although all three doors are currently missing. Despite this, the icehouse remains in exceptionally good condition.
