Description

Hill House is a house dating from the 16th century or earlier. It is timber framed and plastered, with gabled peg tile roofs. The original design was a two-storey "hall" range, to which a jettied cross wing was added at the north end. A "T" shaped plan was added in the 19th century, along with a two-storey extension to the south. A large rendered stack dating from the 17th century is situated against the flank of the cross wing, and a further "L" shaped stack is located behind the main ridge line. The roof overhangs at the rear, and the front features 19th-century curved bargeboards. The house now has 20th-century casement windows with leaded lights.
