Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with early 18th century and mid 19th century additions and alterations. It features 18th and 19th century red brick, with brick casing over the original timber-frame. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and it has parapet gables, an end stack, and a ridge stack with rebuilt upper courses. The building is two storeys high with attics and has an L-plan layout, consisting of the original 17th century three-unit lobby entry range and an 18th century wing on the left side, which includes a hipped roofed porch or stair turret. There is a 19th century brick casing and repair, with a two-storey porch at the angle, and a four-panelled door with a pointed arched casement window above. The left gable has one ground floor casement window, while the main range features two three-light casement windows in cambered brick arches and two smaller three-light casement windows on the first floor. Inside, there are original hearths, exposed timber-frame, boxed and stop-chamfered ceiling beams, and imported 17th century panelling from a church, along with 19th century doors and fittings.
