Description
Ty Gwyn, formerly known as Fox Cottage, is a 17th-century cottage located in Bourn, on the east side of Crow End. It features a timber-framed structure with rough cast render and a thatched roof that is half-hipped to the south. A red brick ridge stack is positioned to the left of center. The cottage has one storey and an attic, originally designed as a three-unit plan but divided into two cottages in the 19th century. The entrance includes a half-glazed door on the left side, flanked by two three-light casement windows, and there are two horizontal sliding sash dormer windows above. Inside, the cottage retains substantial timber framing. In the 19th century, it served as the parish workhouse.
