Description
Grange Farmhouse is an early 19th-century house located on Balsham Road in West Wratting. It is constructed of red brick with a slate roof and features paired internal stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical gabled main elevation. Above a range of three recessed twelve-pane hung sash windows, there is an attic thermal window. The central doorway is adorned with a Doric portico made of limestone, which includes a flush panelled door and a fanlight. The rear elevation also has a thermal window in the attic and similar twelve-pane sashes, along with one original ground floor tripartite hung sash window. Inside, there are opposing front and rear doorways, and an open string staircase with two flights and a landing, featuring stick balusters and scroll tread ends. The farmhouse was likely built around 1820 by the Corporation of the Sons of the Clergy.
