Description
Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century and early 19th century. It is built of red brick with a slate roof, featuring a wood eaves cornice and two symmetrical white brick internal stacks from around 1840, which have linked capping. The building has a square plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, with two hipped dormers. The main elevation is symmetrical, showcasing three sixteen-pane hung sashes from the early 19th century set in segmental arches. A cast iron-tented portico from the early 19th century has been replaced by a mid-20th century Doric portico at the doorway, which is in a round-headed arch and includes a panelled door with radial glazing bars in the fanlight. The garden front has similar window arrangements, but the centre windows on the first floor are blocked, revealing an original stone panel with a foliate design. Inside, there is an early 19th-century staircase and one cupboard from the late 17th to early 18th century still remains.
