Description
The Limes is a cottage that was originally four cottages, with an attached barn. It dates from the early 17th century, with some additions and alterations made in the early 19th century. The building is timber-framed and plastered, while the barn features weatherboarding, with painted brick and plastered plinths. It has thatched roofs and two red brick ridge stacks. The structure is one storey with attics. The original cottage had a three-unit plan and has been extended to both the left and right, as well as to the rear, creating an L-shape with the barn after it was converted into four cottages. There is one sealed door and a 19th-century four-flush-panelled door located in the lobby entry position. The cottage features five horizontal sliding sash windows, one similar dormer window, two casement dormer windows, and one horizontal sliding sash attic window on the left side.
