Description
Orchard House is a house that was formerly a public house, dating from around 1700, with 20th-century additions and replacements. It is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a 20th-century pantile roof. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring a three-unit plan similar to Willow House. The front has a 20th-century architraved doorcase and replacement hung sash windows. The door is located to the left of the centre, with three ground floor windows—two of which have side lights—and four first floor windows. Inside, there are original features such as a large inglenook hearth with a sealed opening to a baking oven, a parlour hearth, two first floor hearths, exposed timber framing, and a side purlin roof. The house was formerly known as the King William IV Public House.
