Description

No 1 Church End is a farmhouse built in 1793. It features a timber frame, is plaster rendered, and has a plain tiled roof with a rebuilt southwest gable end stack above the ridge. The building has an L-plan layout and is two storeys high. The front elevation is symmetrical, with two 19th-century six-pane hung sash windows on either side of a smaller hung sash window that has a single central glazing bar. There is a central doorway topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. The east gable end of the main range has a plaster panel inscribed with "N P 1793," which likely refers to Anne and Nicholas Payne.
